Sainik Schools, a prestigious network of 33 institutions across India, are managed by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence. Their core mission is to provide a high-quality, military-oriented education, shaping well-rounded individuals prepared for a fulfilling career in the defence services. The gateway to these esteemed institutions is the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE). This national-level exam paves the way for admission into classes VI and IX. For the academic year 2024-25, the AISSEE will be the key to unlocking your potential.

Class VI Exam Pattern: A Four-Section Challenge

The Class VI entrance exam consists of four key sections, totaling 300 marks.

• Mathematics: 100 marks
• General Knowledge: 50 marks
• Language (English or Hindi): 50 marks
• Intelligence: 100 marks

Qualifying Criteria: There is no minimum qualifying mark. Merit list will be prepared based on overall performance in the exam.

Class IX Exam Pattern: A Four-Section Challenge

The Class IX exam also consists of four key sections, totaling 400 marks.

• Mathematics: 200 marks
• General Science: 50 marks
• Social Studies: 50 marks
• English: 100 marks

Qualifying Criteria: There is no minimum qualifying mark. Merit list will be prepared based on overall performance in the exam.

Application and Eligibility Criteria for AISSEE 2024-25

The AISSEE is the gateway to Sainik School admission for classes VI and IX. The application process is entirely online, and you can find the form at aissee.nta.nic.in. The selection process involves a written examination, a medical examination, and document verification.

Class VI:

• Both boys and girls are eligible.
• Age: Must be between 10 and 12 years as of March 31 of the year of admission.
• Education: Must have passed or be currently studying in Class V at a recognized school.

Class IX:

• Only boys are eligible.
• Age: Must be between 13 and 15 years as of March 31 of the year of admission.
• Education: Must have passed or be currently studying in Class VIII at a recognized school.
